Another orchid of short turf, often on limestone or chalk, and also sometimes found on people's lawns, this small flower is easy to overlook. Flowering in August and September, you can find it on short, dry, poor and predominantly calcareous soils, in sunny positions. It is mostly found in the southern parts of England, around the coast of Wales and southern and western Ireland.
