Light in the Cairngorms
My recent trip to Scotland was mostly concerned with wildlife photography, despite the wet weather that plagued much of the trip. However, just occasionally the opportunity arose to take some landscapes, and on one evening in particular, the evening light on the mountains was superb, even when, as here, shot through my 600mm lens.
When you get home and put the images into the computer, the colours often surprise me, as in terms of the strength of the blues and purples here.

This next picture was shot, again through the 600mm lens, through a rainbow, and has been heavily digitally manipulated

Lastly a black and white shot, through the 24-70mm lens, that shows the extent of the snow still lying on the tops in May. Two days after I took this shot, and there was a fresh fall of snow above 2000 feet.
