These juvenile common newts were netted from a garden pond by a friend, and are currently living in a tank prior to being released into a much bigger pond in the same vicinity. They have fed well, and grown considerably, and posed some difficulties in terms of photography. In these pictures, the flash was placed above the tank, and I used my 105mm macro lens to capture the images.
