This orchid is both common, and its leaves are usually heavily spotted. Widespread across most of the UK, it is generally absent from Cornwall and much of Central and North Eastern Scotland, where it is replaced by Heath Spotted Orchid. The flowers colouring is very variable, as are the markings on the lip, which is generally clearly separated into three lobes.
