Fly Agaric is the archetypal fungus used to illustrate all sorts of stories, and is certainly very attractive with its red and white cap. However, it is not safe to eat. These specimens were growing on the slopes of May Hill in Gloucestershire in late October 2007. My thanks to the Forest of Dean Fungi Group for the tip-off.
