How well I remember the report in the Daily Telegraph in 1979 announcing the extinction of this butterfly in the UK. Now, some 27 years later, and it has been the subject of a significant, and partly successful operation to re-introduce it to former sites in Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Gloucestershire. These pictures were taken in the latter two counties, 02 at Collards Hill, the public access site near Street, and 04 at Daneway Banks in Gloucestershire.
