Narrow-lipped Helleborine in southern England is found on chalk and limestone soils, in fairly dense beech woods, and in scrub where the shade is deep. This plant is growing in a classic situation in the Cotswolds in Gloucestershire, and was the one plant in the colony still in flower in the second week in August. Another had gone over, and others had been bitten off.
