Once hunted and persecuted close to extinction, the peregrine population recovery has been impressive in the latter years of the 20th century, and these birds can be seen across much of the UK, from Brighton to Scotland, and from Wales to London. There is a strong population in the Gloucestershire, and my local birds have bred again this year, fledging 5 chicks. (2007)
